One Man’s Vision

James Reid was born in 1915 in Stroud, Oklahoma and was orphaned at the age of three when his parents died during the 1918 flu epidemic. At the age of 19, he came to Arizona and then served in the U.S. Marines during World War II. After the war ended, James returned home with the goal of starting his own business. Through hard work and practical wisdom, James founded Western Fence Company in 1947 and rose to prominence in the Arizona business world.

Steady Growth

Throughout the second half of the 20^th century, Western Fence Company became established as a leader in professional fencing and wholesale operations throughout Arizona. Employees embraced our mission, completed thousands of projects for customers, and built a reputation of providing the best quality and service.
